Robert Seaman Elementary School participated in the Town of Oyster Bay’s Soldier Collection Drive in an effort to gather needed supplies to be sent to the men and women serving around the globe.
Seaman’s Peer Leaders took on the task and asked Seaman families, faculty and staff to donate items, which included candy, toiletries, and food items. Last year Town residents donated more than 1,800 pounds of much-needed supplies. Seaman donated numerous boxes filled with supplies to the town and the Peer Leaders were proud to spearhead the campaign.
“I believe it is critical that we do our part to boost the morale of our soldiers,” Town of Oyster Bay Councilman Macagnone said. “This program serves as an important reminder to our uniformed service personnel that the daily sacrifices they make are not taken for granted.”
