The Robert Seaman Elementary School was recently renamed the Jeffrey Ratner Robert Seaman Elementary School to honor Jeffrey Ratner, a former administrator in the Jericho School District.

Jeff was named principal of the then newly re-opened Robert Seaman Elementary School in 1996. “From day one, Jeff touched the lives of everyone,” said Superintendent Hank Grishman. “He possessed an innate ability to make you feel more special than you really were. He quickly became an integral part of the administrative team and his input was invaluable.”

Jeff retired in 2007, but his love for the students and the field of education brought him out of his retirement when he became an interim assistant principal of Jericho High School in 2017. He served in that position until his death in 2019.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate the school renaming and remember Jeff, their friend. A video of the ceremony is available here: https://bit.ly/3Bpy3be.
